Felicia, I tend to lean to Mikes answer here, but a little reminder that it will probably come with an electric charger to charge the battery for reuse. Now with this information ask yourself this; "If your going to use electric anyway", 'why' spend that kind of money when you can add a little to it and buy something that has an electric cord and will be more powerful and last longer. I have a cordless Dewalt-with a 4" blade on it and used it only when I didn`t have any electric available. And again when the battery went dead then I couldn`t cut any more unless I used an old fashion handsaw. If your worried about the weight of this tool then look at a similar size blade electric handsaw with a cord. Hoped this help you make a decision about your purchase on a handsaw.
